Etsy Fees by Country Explained (2026): Regulatory Operating Fees, Processing and More
Published 5 November 2026 · Sources linked inline
Etsy's fees are not the same everywhere. Two sellers with identical listings can keep different amounts depending on where they and their bank account are based. Here is what each fee is and what it costs in 2026, taken from Etsy's own help pages (checked 5 November 2026).
Fees every seller pays
- Listing fee: $0.20 USD per listing (Etsy Help).
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the order total, including shipping and gift wrap.
- Currency conversion: 2.5% if you list in a currency different from your payment account's currency.

Selected rates from Etsy's payment processing fee table:
| Bank account location | Processing fee |
|---|---|
| United States | 3% + $0.25 |
| United Kingdom | 4% + £0.20 |
| Canada (domestic or US orders) | 3% + C$0.25 |
| Canada (international orders) | 4% + C$0.25 |
| Australia (domestic orders) | 3% + A$0.25 |
| Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Netherlands | 4% + €0.30 |
The processing fee is charged on the total sale price, including shipping and any sales tax. Etsy notes that processing fees are subject to VAT where required.
Regulatory Operating Fee by country
Sellers in some countries pay an extra percentage on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap (Etsy Help: Regulatory Operating Fee):
| Seller country | Regulatory Operating Fee |
|---|---|
| Canada | 0.50% |
| France | 1.14% |
| Hungary | 1.97% |
| India | 0.05% |
| Italy | 0.80% |
| Spain | 0.88% |
| Türkiye | 1.67% |
| United Kingdom | 0.48% |
| Vietnam | 1.24% |
Sellers in countries not on Etsy's list, such as the United States, do not pay this fee. The fee may itself be subject to VAT.
Offsite Ads
If a buyer clicks an Etsy ad on another site and buys within 30 days, Etsy charges an Offsite Ads fee: 15%, or 12% for shops that made more than $10,000 in the past 12 months (these shops cannot opt out). The fee is capped at $100 per order (Etsy fees policy).
Example: the same £30 order, UK seller
A UK seller sells an item for £25 plus £5 shipping (order total £30), with a UK bank account, no Offsite Ad:
| Fee | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction fee | 6.5% × £30 | £1.95 |
| Payment processing | 4% × £30 + £0.20 | £1.40 |
| Regulatory Operating Fee | 0.48% × £30 | £0.14 |
| Listing fee | $0.20 (≈ £0.15–0.16, varies with exchange rate) | ≈ £0.16 |
| Total | ≈ £3.65 |
That is about 12% of the order before VAT on fees. A US seller with a $30 order pays 6.5% + 3% + $0.25 + $0.20 = $3.30 (11%).
