FAQ
How do I remove 20% VAT from a price?
Divide the gross price by 1.2. Example: £120 ÷ 1.2 = £100 net, so VAT is £20.
Why not just take 20% off?
20% of a gross price is more than the VAT in it. £120 × 0.8 = £96, which is wrong; the correct net is £100.
